Hello everyone and welcome to my blog! it has taken me a while to get this going, but it is now here. I will be posting to this spot the most. I will still be putting small blurbs on Facebook and on my website http://www.tommytcook.com/, but this is where you will get the most up to date info on my journey.
The posts here will be very randon, as this will serve as a journal of my travels, thoughts, questions, poems, pictures, contemplations and an all out place for me to vent and let it all out. Please understand that I write this for me, so it will cater to no one and will be in any format that I wish it to be, mispellings and all. Some of the things that I write here you may find offensive or vulgar, so you have been forewarned. Again, this is an outlet for me, but I hope that you find it interesting as well as inspiring and informative.
For those of you new to my story, here is the quick rundown....you can read more indepth about the history on my website, http://www.tommytcook.com/. In January of 2010, I sold my company of 11 years to my partner, sold almost everything I owned, bought an RV with my girlfriend at the time Collette, and we hit the road to live a long journey of traveling the US and simply living life. We left January 14th and it has been a interesting journey from the start. In March we landed in Apache Junction AZ and planted for a few months as we both work. At the end of May we decided to part ways on our own journeys and do what we needed to do for ourselves. I bought another RV, packed it up and headed for texas to work with my brother, Mike Cook, for a bit and then get back on the road traveling, which is where I am now.....on the road.
This journey is supported financially by creating art and selling it at fairs and galleries, writing for anyone that will buy my writing, doing odd jobs here and there and the main one...offering consulting services to the concrete countertop and precast industry. It is no doubt a shoe string budget, but my life is full and I am very happy, and I need very little....so that makes it easy as opposed to being a struggle. There have already been many bumps in this raod, but it still seems to be smooth sailing. When it gets dark and gloomy, i count my blessings that I learned to cloud burst from "then men who stare at goats" and I am able to bring the sun right back out. All it take is believing you can do it, and you will succeed.
So that is the begining. Check in regularly to see what I am up to and be sure to "follow me" and you too can be a part of this interesting journey of mine. Lord knows it will always be exciting and have something new to see.
